The Octagon will land in Uruguay for the first time on Aug. 10, and the promotion has added the first Uruguayan talent to the card.
Luiz Eduardo Garagorri, undefeated as a professional, has inked a deal with the promotion to face featherweight Humberto Bandenay at the Fight Night show in Montevideo, multiple sources told MMA Fighting following a report by Combate.
Garagorri (12-0), who just turned a 30 in May, has racked up an undefeated record competing around Brazil and Uruguay since 2015.
Bandenay (14-6, 1 NC) will enter the Octagon for the fourth time, looking to rebound from defeats against Gabriel Benitez and Austin Arnett in 2018. His sole UFC win came in a 26-second KO over Martin Bravo.
UFC Uruguay will take place at Antel Arena and feature a flyweight title bout between Valentina Shevchenko and Liz Carmouche in the main event. The main card will air on the ESPN+ streaming service.
