Several new fights have been announced for the upcoming UFC Fight Night card in Vancouver on Sept. 14 including a light heavyweight showdown between former title contender Glover Teixeira and Nikita Krylov.
Teixeira is fresh off back-to-back submission wins over Karl Roberson and Ion Cutelaba as the 39-year old veteran remains a mainstay in the light heavyweight rankings. He’s gone 3-1 overall in his past four fights with his only loss coming in a decision to Corey Anderson last July.
As for Krylov, the always exciting Russian returned to the UFC last year after nearly two years away from the promotion. Most recently, Krylov avenged a prior loss in the UFC when he defeated Ovince Saint Preux by second-round submission back in April.
Duffee last fought in 2015 when he faced former heavyweight champion Frank Mir. A multitude of injuries have kept Duffee sidelined ever since. Now healthy and ready to fight again, Duffee will return in Vancouver in September.
Meanwhile, Hughes will look for his first UFC win after falling short in his debut against “Ultimate Fighter” veteran Maurice Greene. Hughes is a training partner alongside former heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic in Cleveland and he joined the UFC roster following a knockout on Dana White’s Contender Series.
A main event for the UFC’s return to Vancouver is still to be announced.
