UFC Greenville took a big hit hours before the official weigh-ins on Friday morning.

John Lineker, who replaced Cody Stamann on a month’s notice against Rob Font in the co-main event of Saturday night’s card in South Carolina, due to an injury.

Lineker's manager Alex Davis told MMA Fighting that Lineker suffered a cut over his eyebrow on Thursday night and had to pull out of the contest. MMAjunkie first reported the news.

“Hands of Stone” was very vocal on social media three weeks ago, suggesting the promotion release him if they didn’t like his style enough to give him a fight. The callout worked, and the UFC matched him up with Font days later.

It’s the second time that Lineker pulls out of a fight in 2019, though, after withdrawing from a bantamweight clash with Cory Sandhagen in January. The Brazilian eventually met Sandhagen on April 27, losing via split decision.

Font (16-4) last fought in December, spoiling Sergio Pettis’ return to bantamweight with a decision victory at UFC on FOX 31. Font and Lineker met for the first time in May 2016, with “Hands of Stone” coming out victorious after three rounds in Brazil. Font went 4-2 with three stoppage wins since then.
