WARNING: Story contains graphic images of surgery

For the third time since 2018, Paige VanZant went under the knife to repair her damaged arm that was first broken in her fight against Jessica-Rose Clark last January.

After suffering a break in her forearm, VanZant had surgery following the fight but she wasn’t healing properly so it required a second surgery last June.

VanZant finally returned to action earlier this year where she earned a submission win over Rachael Ostovich. Then in March, VanZant revealed that she broke the arm again. This time she only expected to need rest and recovery time before returning to action.

Unfortunately, just after she began training with hopes to book her next fight in the summer, VanZant visited her physicians and found out that she would need surgery for the third time on her arm.

VanZant had the procedure done on Thursday with a metal bar being readjusted in her arm and the 25-year-old flyweight contender showed off photos during and after the surgery was completed.

The gruesome photos give an idea of the extensive work that VanZant has undergone in order for her to be able to fight again.

When first announcing the planned surgery, VanZant said she only expected to be sidelined for a few months before plotting her return to the cage.

Now that the surgery has been completed, VanZant will allow her arm to heal before booking her next fight in the UFC. VanZant previously mentioned that she is coming up to the end of her current UFC deal with hopes of putting on an impressive showing in her next fight before negotiating a new contract.
