A pair of flyweights will be on the hunt for a second win at 125 pounds at UFC 241.
MMA Fighting’s Guilherme Cruz confirmed with sources that Poliana Botelho (8-2) and Maryna Moroz (9-3) will fight on the Aug. 17 pay-per-view card at Honda Center in Anaheim, California, following an initial report by Combate.
Both Botelho and Moroz were successful in their flyweight debuts earlier this year after moving up from strawweight. Brazil’s Botelho defeated Lauren Mueller by unanimous decision at UFC 236, while Ukraine’s Moroz spoiled the debut of prospect Sabina Mazo by defeating her by unanimous decision at UFC Philadelphia.
Botelho’s notable wins at 115 pounds include Syuri Kondo and Pearl Gonzalez. Moroz owns a submission victory over Joanne Calderwood, which took place in her first UFC fight four years ago.
UFC 241 will be headlined by a heavyweight championship rematch between Daniel Cormier and Stipe Miocic.
