Aaron Chalmers to face Fred Freeman at Bellator London

Bellator

Ten days out from Bellator London, crossover star Aaron Chalmers’ opponent has been confirmed as Fred Freeman, who “The Joker” will face at The SSE Arena, Wembley on Jun. 22.

Bellator announced the 160-pound catchweight fight via press release on Wednesday.

Chalmers (4-1-0) is one of the most polarizing figures on the U.K. scene having transitioned into sport on the back of his time as a cast member on MTV U.K.’s hit reality television show, Geordie Shore. Chalmers suffered defeat for the first time in his last outing when he was submitted by Corey Browning via heel hook in the third round of their lightweight bout.

Up until his loss to Browning, Chalmers had stopped all four of his previous opponents and has compiled a 1-1 record with Bellator thus far.

Freeman (2-1-0) will be best known to MMA fans from his first round loss to Kevin Ferguson Jr. (AKA “Baby Slice”) when they locked horns at Bellator 187 in Dublin, Ireland. Since the defeat, Freeman has got back to winning ways by claiming a first-round win over Derrick Darling at Carden Combat Sports 4.

Also announced via press release, Ireland’s Keith McCabe (3-3-1) will step in for his injured countryman and former opponent Richard Kiely to face former UFC fighter Galore Bofando (5-3-0). Sources confirmed that Kiely had suffered an injury in the lead up to the highly touted welterweight clash. The SBG fighter hopes to return to action in time for September’s rumored Dublin card.
