Ex-KSW champion Mamed Khalidov detained for allegedly forging documents of stolen cars

Mamed Khalidov

A former champion in Poland’s KSW promotion, Mamed Khalidov is now facing serious charges in that country.

Khalidov, who has held MMA titles at 185 and 205 pounds, was detained in Poland for allegedly “altering the origins of luxury cars stolen in the Czech Republic,” per a report from the Associated Press. The 38-year-old native of Chechnya, who is a Polish citizen, is suspected to have been involved in forging documents for a group that leased Porsche, BMW, and Range Rover vehicles abroad without paying for them.

Antiterrorists were deployed to detain Khalidov at his home in Olsztyn, Poland, and he was taken to Katowice for questioning. Katowice police spokeswoman Aleksandra Nawara said that the antiterrorists were necessary in the occasion that Khalidov resisted detention.

Khalidov (34-6-2) last fought in December, losing a unanimous decision in a rematch with Tomasz Narkun at KSW 46. It was his second straight loss to Narkun. Prior to that, Khalidov was unbeaten in 15 consecutive bouts.
