John Lineker wants to fight.
The man known as “Hands of Stone” may have just stepped into the Octagon in April, but he’s already itching to get back. However, if history repeats itself, fans won’t get to the Brazilian bantamweight don his four-ounce gloves again until 2020.
Dating back to 2016, Lineker, a seven-year UFC veteran, has only fought four times, with his most recent being a split-decision loss to Cory Sandhagen at UFC Fort Lauderdale. On the flip side, Sandhagen has already been booked opposite Raphael Assuncao for UFC 241 in August, marking his fifth fight in a little more than a year and a half.
Taking to Twitter, Lineker voiced his displeasure at the lack of activity to the UFC brass.
My last opponent fought 4 times in a year. He already has another fight! Sean likes him! I have fought only 4 times since 2016! I need to fight! If you dont like me or my style just let me go!!! @MMAjunkie @seanshelby @danawhite @Alexdavismma @ufc @MMAFighting @sherdogdotcom

Prior to loss to his most recent loss, Lineker (31-9) earned a decision over Marlon Vera at UFC Sao Paulo in October 2017 followed by a violent knockout over Brian Kelleher in 2018. To date, Lineker has finished 17 of his 31 professional wins, including 14 by (T)KO.
