Conor McGregor has been dominating the headlines recently, mostly for negative things, but now at least the Irish superstar has one less thing to worry about: the civil suit that was filed against him over an alleged confrontation with a fan in Miami has been dropped.

McGregor was arrested in March for allegedly stealing and smashing a fan’s phone outside of Liv nightclub. The fan, Ahmed Abdirzak, then filed a civil suit against McGregor for more than $15,000, accusing McGregor of battery, assault and intentional infliction of emotional distress. But yesterday, TMZ and ESPN both reported that the lawsuit was dismissed with prejudice at the request of Abdirzak, meaning a settlement was likely reached between the two parties.

That’s good news for McGregor who is quickly filling up his plate with controversy. A few weeks ago it was reported that McGregor is under investigation in Ireland for an alleged sexual assault and, just yesterday, the Irish Mirror reported that McGregor is also under investigation by the Irish police for allegedly assaulting a bar patron on Saturday. He has not been charged with a crime in either matter, but add in McGregor’s recent Islamophobic tweets aimed at Khabib Nurmagomedov and “Notorious” has been living up to his fighting moniker over the past few weeks.

McGregor is still facing criminal charges for the alleged phone altercation, one count felony robbery by snatching and one count misdemeanor criminal mischief. His next scheduled court date is April 10.

With fight week about to kick into high gear, and a seasonal presser now set for Friday, I’m curious how interested y’all are in UFC 236. It’s the first of the ESPN+ PPV era and, though the main and co-main are excellent, the card is pretty thin on excitement otherwise. Sound off in the comments.

Thanks for reading and see y’all tomorrow.
