The fifth title fight for Cage Warriors 106: Night of Champions has been confirmed as Norwegian wrestling standout Marthin Hamlet clashes surging light heavyweight Modestas Bukauskas at the Apollo on June 29.
In the same press release that announced the latest title fight, Cage Warriors also confirmed that former lightweight champion and recently crowned interim featherweight champion Soren Bak has withdrawn from unification bout against featherweight champion Dean Trueman.
According to the release, Bak is “no longer willing” to cut to make the featherweight limit. Trueman will still defend his title on the night against a yet to be confirmed opponent.
Hamlet (5-0-0) is well known commodity for Norwegian combat sports fans having claimed the Norwegian wrestling title on seven occasions. He has banked a 15 World Cup medals as a wrestler. Hamlet’s last two outings came under the Cage Warriors Academy banner. His last outing saw him claim a unanimous decision win over veteran competitor Lukasz Parobiec.
Bukauskas (8-2-0) is currently on a four-fight winning streak, three of which he claimed with Cage Warriors. The U.K. based Lithuanian scored a second-round knockout against KSW veteran Marcin Wojcik in his last fight at Cage Warriors 102.
