One of Chicago’s fighting sons is getting a home date.
Ricardo Lamas will take on Calvin Kattar in a featherweight bout at UFC 238 on June 8 at United Center in Chicago, per an official release. The bout was first reported by the Chicago Tribune.
This will be Lamas’s first booking of 2019 following a 2018 campaign that saw him lose a split decision to Mirsad Bektic in June and then rebound with a third-round TKO of Darren Elkins at UFC Argentina in November. The one-time UFC featherweight title challenger is 10-5 in the UFC and 19-7 overall as a pro.
Kattar (19-3) has won three of his four Octagon appearances. After losing a unanimous decision to Renato Moicano via unanimous decision at UFC 223, Kattar responded by needing less than a round to finish Chris Fishgold in his next outing at UFC Moncton.
The UFC 238 pay-per-view will be headlined by a pair of title bouts as Henry Cejudo and Marlon Moraes battle for a vacant bantamweight championship, and Valentina Shevchenko goes for the first defense of her flyweight title against Jessica Eye.
