Desmond Green is coming home.
The native of Rochester, N.Y., is set to face Charles Jourdain in a lightweight bout on the upcoming UFC on ESPN+ card at Blue Cross Arena on May 18. Jourdain’s signing was first reported by Le Journal de Montreal.
Green is coming off of a breakthrough performance against veteran Ross Pearson at UFC Philadelphia. “The Predator” needed less than a round to defeat Pearson by TKO and pick up his first finish in the UFC. He is 3-3 in six Octagon appearances and 22-8 overall.
Jourdain (9-1) has won his last four fights and joins the UFC as a standout in Canada’s TKO promotion. His last two fights have seen the 23-year-old capture a featherweight title and a vacant interim lightweight title.
UFC Rochester takes place on May 18. It will be headlined by a welterweight bout between former lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos and Kevin Lee, and stream live on ESPN+.
