It’s hard to imagine Luan Santiago staking his claim to the Brave CF lightweight championship in more emphatic fashion.
On Friday at Brave CF 23 in Amman, Jordan, the 24-year-old Brazilian spoiled Abdul-Kareem Al-Selwady’s first title defense with a sniper spinning back elbow that robbed Al-Selwady of all of his senses.

It was a clean shot that caught Al-Selwady just as he was stepping in and the effect was instantaneous as he fell onto his knees and then face-first onto the mat. Were it not for the referee’s quick intervention, Santiago may have caught him with a late shot too.
Afterwards, it was all respect between Santiago and Al-Selwady.
