Galore Bofando debuts against Richard Kiely at Bellator London

Two expert strikers are set to go head to head when UFC veteran Galore Bofando takes on Richard Kiely at Bellator London on Jun. 22.

Several sources confirmed the welterweight bout to MMA Fighting, which is set to take place on the event’s preliminary card.

Bofando (5-3-0) is set for his debut with the promotion following his stint with the UFC in which he collected a tally of 1-1.

After his release in March 2018, Bofando cryptically posted on social media: “As some of you already know, I have been released by the UFC. There are reasons behind it, I will keep it to myself. As sad as it is, I believe the universe knows what it is doing. While one door closes, another one opens and I am looking forward [sic] to the new opportunities ahead of me.”

“The Paranormal” debuted in spectacular fashion with a knockout win over Kiely’s SBG teammate Charlie Ward at UFC Glasgow. While defending a takedown, Bofando tripped the Irishman who was rendered unconscious when he head awkwardly struck the canvas.

In his last UFC outing, Bofando suffered a first-round loss to Chad Laprise.

Kiely (3-1-0) backs up his outspoken manner with a dynamic striking arsenal, which saw him jump back into the win column with a first-round knockout of Mickael Bucher at Bellator 217 in Dublin, Ireland.

The Dubliner briefly retired following a title loss to Alex Lohore under the BAMMA banner, but returned to action when he made his Bellator debut. Kiely’s other professional wins came against Team Ryano stalwart Keith McCabe and Daniel Olejniczak, with both suffering knockout losses to the SBG Tallaght fighter.
