Edson Barboza had a big reason to smile just hours after his knockout loss to Justin Gaethje.
The Brazilian lightweight came up short in the main event bout at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, losing to Gaethje by first-round stoppage, but wasted no time flying back to Florida to be by his wife’s side when she delivered Victoria, their daughter.
On social media, Barboza and Bruna Almeida celebrated the birth of their second child on Sunday. Despite the defeat, Barboza (20-7) pocketed an extra $50,000 check for the best fight of the night.
