UFC Ottawa is adding more homegrown talent.
Officials announced Monday that Montreal’s Nordine Taleb will fight Siyar Bahadurzada in a welterweight bout on May 4 at Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa, Ontario.
A native of France, Taleb (14-6) has represented Canada in the Octagon since April 2014 after his time as a cast member on The Ultimate Fighter Nations. He is 6-4 in the UFC, with losses in his last two outings, a TKO to Sean Strickland and a submission to Claudio Silva.
Bahadurzada (24-7-1) is also coming off of a loss after dropping a unanimous decision to Curtis Millender in December. That snapped a three-fight winning streak and Bahadurzada fell to 4-3 in the UFC.
No main event has been designated for UFC Ottawa, but top-15 ranked middleweights Elias Theodorou and Derek Brunson have been announced for the show, which will air its main card live on the ESPN+ streaming service.
