First mixed martial arts, then boxing. Is hockey next?

Former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion Conor McGregor took in the sights and sounds of his first NHL game on Saturday, serving as the ceremonial puck dropper for the Boston Bruins’ home game against the Columbus Blue Jackets as part of the Bruins’ Irish Heritage Night ahead of Sunday’s St. Patrick’s Day festivities.

Check out McGregor hyping up the Boston crowd and dropping the puck below following his customary “Foggy Dew”/“Hypnotize” mash-up walkout.

McGregor also visited the home locker room prior to the game to give a pre-game speech to Bruins players, touting his past success in the TD Garden.

“I am undefeated in this building, just like the Bostonians themselves — that’s what I told the team in there,” McGregor explained in an interview with NESN during the first-period intermission (H/T BJPenn.com). “That’s what I said when I walked in there. I said, ‘Are you’s ready for war? When I say Boston, you say strong. Boston Strong! Boston Strong!’ They all rose up with that energy, and I look forward to seeing that transfer onto the [ice].

“I said to the Boston Bruins team, ‘Which one of you’s is the enforcer? They all looked around, and I said, ‘Tonight, you’re all the enforcers!”
