UFC’s Gunnar Nelson dances in singlet to ‘Call on Me’ in spoof music video

Is this how they prepare for fights in Iceland?

A hilarious video of Gunnar Nelson and his team at Mjolnir in Reykjavik dancing — rather suggestively — to the song “Call on Me” was posted to the gym’s YouTube page Monday and shared on Nelson’s Instagram account. The video is a spoof on the actual “Call on Me” video, which features women dancing in 1980s-style aerobics attire. Nelson is clad in a wrestling singlet.

The fun and games will end this coming weekend for “Gunni.”

Nelson (17-3-1) will take on Leon Edwards in the co-main event of UFC London on Saturday. He is trying to pick up his second straight win in a stacked welterweight division. Nelson, 30, has won three of four overall.

Edwards (16-3) is on a six-fight winning streak and closing in on potential title contention. The English fighter is coming off a unanimous decision win over Donald Cerrone in June 2018. Edwards, 27, is a dangerous opponent with knockout power.

Nelson, meanwhile, is known for his oppressive grappling and submission ability as a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt. And also, perhaps, his dancing skills. The parody music video is something of a tradition to Mjolnir.
