Four fight finishers picked up $50,000 bonuses on Saturday.
Thiago Santos received a Performance of the Night bonus for his third-round TKO of Jan Blachowicz in the main event of UFC Fight Night: Blachowicz vs. Santos. The light heavyweight pair went back-and-forth on the feet for two rounds before Santos crushed Blachowicz with a counterpunch and finished him 39 seconds into the third.
No stranger to bonuses, this is Santos’ third straight appearance in which he’s collected a post-fight award.
Also receiving bonus checks were heavyweight Stefan Struve, who dug deep to survive an early onslaught from Marcos Rogerio de Lima and come back for a second-round submission victory in what could be his last fight, as well as bantamweight Dwight Grant for his buzzer-beating first-round KO of Carlo Pedersoli Jr., and Michal Oleksiejczuk for his fast finish of Gian Villante.
This was the first UFC bonus for Grant and Oleksiejczuk. Struve, a veteran of 22 UFC fights, picked up his eighth career performance bonus.
The attendance at O2 Arena in Prague, Czech Republic, was announced as a sellout at 16,583 for a gate of $1.6 million (USD).
