Andrei Arlovski is set for his 29th UFC appearance.
The former heavyweight champion will fight Augusto Sakai (12-1-1) at UFC on ESPN 3, which is scheduled to take place on April 27 at BB&T Center in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. This event was originally announced for American Airlines Arena in Miami, but the change was noted on Saturday’s UFC Prague broadcast.
Arlovski (27-18, 1 NC) is mired in a 2-8 stretch, including three straight losses. Most recently, he dropped a split decision to Walt Harris at UFC 232 in December. He faces Sakai, a former Bellator standout who made a successful UFC debut in September with a third-round TKO win over Chase Sherman.
Also confirmed Saturday, a strawweight bout between Jessica Penne (12-5) and Jodie Esquibel (6-4) has been re-booked for the April 27 show. The two were supposed to fight at UFC on ESPN 1 this past Sunday, but Penne suffered an ankle injury on fight day and the matchup was subsequently canceled.
Other fights added to UFC on ESPN 3 include a welterweight bout between Court McGee (19-7) vs. Dhiego Lima (13-7), and a lightweight bout between Jim Miller (29-13) and Jason Gonzalez (11-4).
