Jessica-Rose Clark will return to the bantamweight division and face Talita Bernardo at UFC 237 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on May 11, sources confirmed to MMA Fighting following a report by Combate.
Clark (9-5, 1 no-contest) competed three times under the UFC banner in 2017 and 2018, going 2-1 as a flyweight with wins over Bec Rawlings and Paige VanZant and a loss to Jessica Eye, but moves up to 135 pounds after being deemed “medically unfit” to cut weight for a fight with Andrea Lee in December.
Bernardo (5-3) had a rough start in the promotion in 2017, being finished by Marion Reneau in her debut and coming back four months later to lose a decision to Irene Aldana. However, Bernardo bounced back to the winning column last October with a decision victory against Sarah Moras at UFC Moncton.
UFC 237 will take place at the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro and feature Rose Namajunas vs. Jessica Andrade for the strawweight championship. Former champion Anderson Silva is also slated to compete on the pay-per-view show, taking on Jared Cannonier.
