The UFC is returning to Russia.

On Friday morning, officials announced the promotion will host its first event in St. Petersburg, Russia, on April 20 inside the Yubileyny Sports Complex. This marks the second UFC fight card to touch down in Russia following UFC Moscow in September 2018.

In the night’s main event, fans will witness a heavyweight tilt between former champions in Alexander Volkov vs. Alistair Overeem.

Volkov (30-7), a former Bellator champion, is looking to right the ship after coming out on the wrong end of a highlight-reel finish at the hands of Derrick Lewis in October. This setback not only snapped his four-fight win streak inside the Octagon but marked just his second career (T)KO loss.

Overeem (44-17, 1 NC), a former Strikeforce, K-1 and Dream champion, most recently got back into the win column with a first-round TKO over Sergey Pavlovich at UFC Beijing in November. Prior to this, fans saw “The Reem” violently finished by Francis Ngannou and Curtis Blaydes.

Other matchups confirmed for the card are a women’s flyweight scrap between Roxanne Modafferi and Antonina Shevchenko as well as a pair of heavyweight fights between Pavlovich and Marcelo Golm, and Marcin Tybura and Shamil Abdurakhimov.
