Satoshi Ishii will make his KSW debut against former promotional champion Fernando Rodrigues Jr. at KSW 47 on Mar. 23 in Lodz, Poland.
KSW announced the fight via press release Wednesday.
Ishii (19-8-1) has claimed notable wins over Tim Sylvia, Jeff Monson, Pedro Rizzo and Heath Herring since turning pro in 2009. The Olympic gold medalist has competed under the some of the biggest banners in MMA including Bellator, RIZIN, Dream and K-1 and has fought some of the greatest heavyweights of all time including Fedor Emelianenko and Mirko Cro Cop.
Ishii is currently on a four-fight win streak. He scored his latest victory last weekend with a dominant first-round win over Rodrigo Carlos at Serbian Battle Championship 20.
Rodrigues Jr. (12-4-0) got back to winning ways in his last outing against James McSweeney, which he won by unanimous decision.
“Santa Forte” took the KSW heavyweight title from Karol Bedorf with a second round stoppage when they met at KSW 37 in 2016. He lost the title when he suffered a first-round knockout to Marcin Rozalski at KSW 39. He also suffered a defeat in his last KSW outing when he met former title challenger, Michal Andryszak, who also stopped him in the first round of their KSW 41 bout.
