Pitbull shot out of his corner from the first bell, forcing big reactions from his countryman every time he connected. The Bellator lightweight initially put Gustavo down with a left-right combination. Gustavo somehow managed to get to his feet, but Pitbull swarmed him again, dropping him two big right hands before a final soccer kick prompted the referee to stop the action.
Following the win, Pitbull is set to meet Azerbaijani lightweight Tofiq Musaev in the tournament final later today. Musaev scored a first round stoppage over UFC lightweight Johnny Case in the curtain jerker for the RIZIN 20 event to book his place in the final. The win marked his third consecutive victory over a UFC veteran.
In the aftermath of the victory and before his appearance in the tournament final, Pitbull’s coach, Eric Albarracin, posted a video of the Brazilian enjoying his handiwork backstage.
