Two UFC light heavyweight veterans will meet in New Mexico for a potential shot at Jon Jones.

MMA Fighting’s Damon Martin confirmed with sources that Corey Anderson and Jan Blachowicz are in talks to headline UFC Rio Rancho on Feb. 15. This will be a rematch of their Sept. 5, 2015 encounter at UFC 191 that Anderson won by unanimous decision.

The news was first reported by ESPN.

This will be a key matchup for the top-10 contenders who have both made a case for a future shot at light heavyweight champion Jon Jones.

Anderson (13-4) is riding a four-fight win streak, which includes a first-round TKO of Johnny Walker and a unanimous decision win over one-time title challenger Glover Teixeira. The Ultimate Fighter season 19 champion has been campaigning for a shot at “Bones” for months and he went as far as to confront Jones at an autograph signing in New Jersey this past summer.

Blachowicz (25-8) has won six of his last seven and rebounded from a loss to Thiago Santos with consecutive wins against longtime middleweight contenders Ronaldo Souza and Luke Rockhold. The 36-year-old Pole also holds notable victories over Nikita Krylov, Jimi Manuwa, Jared Cannonier, and Ilir Latifi.

UFC Rio Rancho takes place at Santa Ana Star Center in Rio Rancho, N.M. The main card will air live on the ESPN+ streaming service.
