Paul Felder inks new multi-fight deal with UFC ahead of showdown with Dan Hooker

Lightweight contender Paul Felder has inked a new multi-fight deal with the UFC ahead of his upcoming main event showdown against Dan Hooker in Auckland, New Zealand on Feb. 22.

Felder’s manager Brian Butler of Suckerpunch Entertainment confirmed the news to MMA Fighting on Monday.

While details surrounding the deal were not revealed, Butler says that the new contract came along with the bout agreement to face Hooker in February and the veteran lightweight was “very happy” with the terms.

With five consecutive wins at lightweight, Felder has quickly become one of the top fighters in arguably the UFC’s deepest division at 155 pounds.

“The Irish Dragon” most recently avenged a prior defeat to Edson Barboza in his last appearance at UFC 242 in September, which marked his second win in a row overall after he made a brief stop at welterweight for a fight against Mike Perry in 2018.

In addition to his work inside the Octagon, Felder has also become a mainstay on UFC programming as a color commentator working numerous pay-per-view cards as well as broadcasts on ESPN.

The 35-year-old Philadelphia native is 9-4 overall in the UFC and he’ll look for win No. 10 when he travels into enemy territory in February for the clash with Hooker in New Zealand.
