From one former UFC champion to another, Conor McGregor has a positive message for Frankie Edgar.

“The Answer” suffered a quick knockout loss to “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung in the main event of UFC Busan on Saturday and afterwards, Edgar found himself having to deal with critics of his performance. He addressed the matter in a tweet that was later answered by McGregor.

“Why do the negative comments alway get to you the most? Thanks for the love from most of you out there. To the others I’m sure it won’t be your last shitty comment to dish out. Let’s not give power to these people. Thanks for the to the real ones out there!”

In response, McGregor—who has traded barbs with Edgar in public as the two have been linked to a potential bout on several occasions—offered words of support for the former UFC lightweight champion, referring to Edgar as “an icon.”

“Remember what was told in shootouts Frankie!

Stay low and keep firin!!!

Forever an icon in this game!”

Next for McGregor, he faces Donald Cerrone in the welterweight main event of UFC 246 in Las Vegas.
