UFC Busan live blog: Frankie Edgar vs. Korean Zombie

This is the UFC Busan live blog for Frankie Edgar vs. Korean Zombie, a featherweight bout in Saturday’s main event at Sajik Arena in Busan, South Korea.

Edgar, a former lightweight champion, hopes to upset hometown hero Chan Sung Jung, who hopes to climb into the featherweight title picture with a win over the former champ.

Round 1: Marc Goddard is refereeing the main event bout. Edgar the more active of the two as they both look for jabs. Edgar lands a leg kick and continues to put the jab in Jung’s face. After stuffing a takedown, Jung rocks Edgar in two exchanges. Edgar falls to the floor and Jung is all over him. Jung attempts a rear-naked choke, Frankie escapes and Jung continues to land big shots. Goddard looks to be on the verge of stopping the bout as Edgar eats more shots with Jung on his back. Edgar continues to fight despite being in a horrible position. Goddard warns Edgar that he needs to do something to stay in the fight. He keeps doing just enough to stay in there. With two minutes left, they get back to their feet. Jung puts Edgar down almost immediately and Goddard stops the action.
