John Dodson will have to snap Nathaniel Wood’s winning streak to stop his own skid.

Officials announced Thursday that Dodson (20-11) and Wood (16-3) will meet in a bantamweight bout at UFC Rio Rancho on Feb. 15. The match up was first reported by Sherdog.com.

A two-time flyweight title challenger, Dodson has lost three of his last four fights, all by decision. In his lone appearance of 2019, he fell to Petr Yan at UFC Prague in February. The 35-year-old’s last win was a split nod over Pedro Munhoz in March 2018.

Wood, 26, has been trending in the opposite direction. The former Cage Warriors bantamweight champion is 3-0 since debuting with the UFC in June of last year, scoring submission wins over Jose Quinonez, Andre Ewell, and Johnny Eduardo. “The Prospect” has finished his last eight opponents.

UFC Rio Rancho takes place at Santa Ana Star Center in Rio Rancho, N.M., and is currently scheduled to be headlined by a light heavyweight rematch between Corey Anderson and Jan Blachowicz. The main card will air live on the ESPN+ streaming service.
