The long-running Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington feud planted the seeds for a dramatic in-cage confrontation and the two fighters delivered.
Usman and Covington were rewarded the Fight of the Night award for their back-and-forth welterweight championship battle at UFC 245 on Saturday in Las Vegas that ended with Usman scoring a fifth-round TKO to retain his title.
It was the first Fight of the Night win for both fighters, and the first-ever UFC bonus for Covington.
Performance of the Night awards went to bantamweight contenders Petr Yan and Irene Aldana. Yan dismissed legend Urijah Faber with a stunning third-round head kick, while Aldana punched out previously unbeaten Ketlen Vieira inside of a round.
All fight night bonus winners will receive an extra $50,000.
The reported attendance at T-Mobile Arena was 16,811 for a gate of $4,041,119.14.
