UFC 245: Usman vs. Covington took place Dec. 14 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. UFC champion Amanda Nunes (19-4) battled Germaine de Randamie (9-4) for the bantamweight title, which aired live on ESPN+ pay-per-view. Catch more video highlights below.

Round 1: Keith Peterson will referee this championship bout. Nunes with the jab, De Randamie with a leg kick. Right hand by Nunes backs De Randamie up. De Randamie sticking with the inside leg kick. Nunes catches a De Randamie body kick, but can’t score with a follow-up punch. Big punches by Nunes to enter, De Randamie avoids them but can’t block a body lock takedown. Nunes postures up, De Randamie scrambles and almost gets caught in a guillotine. Nunes hunting for it, but De Randamie pops her head out. Nice uppercut by De Randamie as they stand against the cage, De Randamie keeping her weight on Nunes. Nunes gets free and gets low for the takedown. Ground-and-pound by the champion. She’s taking her time. De Randamie can’t get space for her up-kicks, she’s throwing short punches from the bottom, mostly focusing on defense. Nunes firing that right hand from up top. She postures up and gets past De Randamie’s legs for more ground-and-pound. Peterson giving De Randamie every chance to respond, nothing heavy getting through, but De Randamie is just turtling up. Nunes looks for the arm-triangle to end this. De Randamie defending well and Nunes lets it go. Elbows from the top now, De Randamie’s legs flailing to keep Nunes off of her.

Round 2: De Randamie opening up with her striking, looking to land something substantial. Nunes staying calm and she answers with inside leg kicks. Jab by De Randamie gets through, Nunes with the leg kick. 1-2 by De Randamie, she looks like she’s settling down. Overhand right by Nunes is blocked, De Randamie narrowly misses on an uppercut. Perfectly timed level change by Nunes and she gets the takedown. De Randamie trying to tie Nunes up in her guard. Nunes just punching at the body and De Randamie’s tactic works, there’s the stand-up by Peterson. Nunes is all smiles. De Randamie throws a question mark ick that catches the top of Nunes’s head. Right hand by De Randamie and a jumping knee. De Randamie working for the Thai clinch and she definitely lands some knees. Big knee to the face lands for De Randamie. She gets that knee up again and puts it on Nunes’s chin. Nunes explodes off of the cage for the takedown. De Randamie’s butterfly guard mostly keeping Nunes from punching down at her. She throws up a triangle and Nunes immediately spins out of it. Nunes just holding on to De Randamie’s foot, looking for an opening. She drops back down into De Randamie’s guard.

Round 3: Inside leg kick by De Randamie. Nunes looks to answer with one of her own, but De Randamie with a solid straight right. Nunes goes for the takedown, circles, and gets it. Nunes on top in side control, then half guard, De Randamie again working to tie her up. Little offense from either fighter with three minutes remaining in the round. Nunes just pinning De Randamie down, throwing body punches. She postures up and starts finding room to throw elbows. De Randamie still looking for the stand up. Nunes with more elbows, she’s making sure they stay on the mat. Nunes goes for the arm-triangle again, but there’s no room against the cage. She stands and De Randamie hits her with a hard up-kick right on the chin. Nunes gets back on top and is just pumping elbows into De Randamie’s defenses. De Randamie works her way to the feet only to be taken down again. Ugly round, but one that Nunes controlled.

Round 4: Less than 30 seconds in, Nunes with the level change and the takedown. She’s not taking her chances with De Randamie at this point. Nunes methodically advances into half guard and she’s getting her elbows going again. De Randamie’s defenses holding up for now, but she is being completely neutralized. Out of nowhere, she throws up a triangle, then a triangle armbar, but Nunes stays calm and gets out of it. Scramble to the feet, Nunes going for the double leg and she gets this one back to the mat. Scary sequence for the champion. Nunes just chilling in top position. Little hammer fists and elbows from bottom by De Randamie. Nunes really taking her time with her punches now.

Round 5: Nunes catches a low kick and immediately gets this one back down to the mat, she’s in De Randamie’s guard. De Randamie looking to tie Nunes up, the champion seems content to ride out this position. Nunes with enough output on the ground to keep this from being stood up. That’s the story of the round so far with two minutes remaining. Crowd is getting restless, but Nunes is giving De Randamie no opening to scramble or escape. Nunes postures up with less than a minute remaining, then jumps back into De Randamie’s guard. De Randamie had her moments but Nunes did more than enough to retain.
