Video: Irene Aldana upsets Ketlen Vieira with brutal knockout at UFC 245

Bantamweight Ketlen Vieira expected to cement her case for a title shot, and the betting public favored her to do so opposite Irene Aldana at UFC 245.

But Aldana had other ideas, and after taking Vieira’s best shots, she delivered a left hook that sent her opponent crashing to the canvas.

Aldana, who prior to Saturday night made her own case for a No. 1 contender spot, was a +200 underdog in several betting lines. With the highlight-reel finish, she picked up her second consecutive win after a split-call loss against Raquel Pennington.

In the wake of the knockout, Aldana was all class as she kneeled by the fallen Vieira. The two hugged afterward as Vieira burst into tears.

Vieira had won three straight in the UFC and was 10-0 entering the bout. Now, the Nova Uniao product will for the first time go back to the drawing board.
