Esther Lin, MMA Fighting

Geoff Neal wanted nothing more than to become the first person to finish Mike Perry by knockout in their meeting at UFC 245.

Consider it mission accomplished.

The Dana White Contender Series veteran moved to 5-0 in his UFC career with a quick finish against Perry in the featured preliminary fight from Las Vegas on Saturday night.

The end came at just 90 seconds into the opening round after Neal slammed home a head kick that rattled Perry, putting him on wobbly legs as he fell backwards towards the cage.

Neal seized on the opportunity as he rushed forward with a barrage of strikes that put Perry down and out as the referee rushed into stop the fight before any further damage could be inflicted.

It was a very impressive win for Neal as he continues his steady climb up the welterweight rankings after earning his fourth finish in five fights inside the Octagon. As for Perry, he drops to 1-3 in his past four outings with the first loss of his career by knockout.
