It’s another country versus country theme for Conor McGregor’s much-anticipated return.
The former two-division champ is backed by Irish tricolor for his UFC 246 headliner opposite perennial contender Donald Cerrone, who’s shadowed by an American star and stripes in a new poster released for the Jan. 18 pay-per-view event.

The Jan. 19 date reflects the event’s showtime overseas per the UFC Asia twitter account. McGregor vs. Cerrone is hosted by T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
McGregor makes his return after a submission loss to current UFC lightweight champ Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229. UFC President Dana White has said a win for the ex-champ could set up a title rematch, though Nurmagomedov recently shot down the idea in an interview with RT Sport. Cerrone is three months removed from a knockout loss to Justin Gaethje, his second consecutive setback after a TKO loss to Tony Ferguson, who will face Nurmagomedov in April.
Other expected bouts for the Jan. 18 pay-per-view include:
Holly Holm vs. Raquel Pennington
Roxanne Modafferi vs. Maycee Barber
Nasrat Haqparast vs. Drew Dober
Aleksei Oleinik vs. Maurice Greene
Anthony Pettis vs. Carlos Diego Ferreira
Brian Kelleher vs. Ode Osbourne
