De La Rosas book fights on same card at UFC Rio Rancho

For the first time in UFC history, a husband and wife will compete on the same card with Mark and Montana De La Rosa set to compete at UFC Rio Rancho on Feb. 15 in New Mexico.

Mark De La Rosa squares off with Raulian Paiva, while his wife, Montana De La Rosa, takes on Mara Romero Borello. Both fights take place in the flyweight division.

Multiple sources confirmed the fights to MMA Fighting on Wednesday following an initial report from ESPN.

The De La Rosas already had celebrated being the first married couple to both compete in the UFC after Mark joined the organization in 2017; Montana earned a contract following a stint on “The Ultimate Fighter” reality show.

Now they’ll make history again by competing on the same card, and both hope to bounce back from recent setbacks. Mark looks to halt a two-fight losing streak, while Montana seeks to rebound from her first UFC loss in June in a fight against Andrea Lee.

Prior to that setback, Montana went 3-0 in the UFC with three submission finishes.

The two confirmed bouts join a growing card at UFC Rio Rancho, which is headlined by a light heavyweight fight between Corey Anderson and Jan Blachowicz.
