Leah McCourt vs. Judith Ruis among several bouts booked for Bellator Dublin

Leah McCourt will fight the first bout of her new six-fight deal with Bellator when the promotion returns to Dublin on Feb. 22.

Her bout with experienced German Judith Ruis was announced alongside of a number of preliminary bouts via press release on Tuesday morning.

McCourt (3-1-0) is undefeated under the Bellator banner so far, stopping both of her opponents to date in the first round. McCourt trains under former fighter and coach Owen Roddy at SBG Charlestown and her two wins to date - over Kerry Hughes and Hatice Ozyurt - both took place in the Irish capital.

Ruis’ 10-fight record (6-4-0) presents McCourt with her toughest test of experience to date. The German rides a two-fight win streak into the contest, both of which came by first-round submission. In her most high-profile fight to date, Ruis battled with Japanese star Reina Miura at Deep Jewels 22, suffering a decision loss to “King” in late 2018.

Bellator announced several other bouts in the same press release.

SBG’s Dylan Logan (4-3-0) will look to make it three wins in as many outing under the banner when he faces Tom Mearns (6-3-0). Another SBG fighter, Ciaran Clarke (1-0-0), will look to add to his win in his pro debut when he faces Jamie Faulding (1-0-0). A decorated kickboxer who has recently transitioned to MMA under the tutelage of John Kavanagh, Ilias Bulaid (1-0-0), will take on a second consecutive pro debutant Diego Freitas (0-0-0) on the night.

Team Ryano’s Constantin Blanita is also set to make his pro debut when he takes on another man making his first walk as a pro, Asael Adjoudj.
