Kleber Silva steps in for Brave CF’s one-night, four-man openweight tournament

Kleber Silva will replace Moise Rimbon at the upcoming Brave Combat Federation four-man openweight tournament on Nov. 15 in Bahrain, sources told MMA Fighting. It’s unclear why Rimbon withdrew from the grand prix.

Silva is coming off back-to-back first-round stoppages in 2019, boosting his record to 18-10 with one no-contest. “Orgulho” takes on middleweight Mohammad Fakhreddine (12-3, 1 no-contest) in the semifinal bout.

A former Jungle Fight light heavyweight champion, Silva fought once under the Bellator banner in 2016, knocking out future PFL heavyweight champion Philipe Lins.

The other side of the bracket features UFC veteran Guto Inocente versus Azamat Murzakanov. The winners will collide for a $100,000 check offered to the tournament’s victor.

The grand prix final will feature a rematch between both Brazilians if both Inocente and “Orgulho” get through their semifinal matches. They met in 2010 for the WFE light heavyweight championship in Brazil, but Silva suffered a shoulder injury while attempting a rear-naked choke finish.
