Mickey Gall won’t be fighting at UFC on ESPN 7 after his original opponent Carlos Condit suffered an injury that forced him off the card.
UFC officials confirmed to MMA Fighting that Gall has been pulled from the card following an initial report from MMAJunkie.
Additional sources confirmed to MMA Fighting that replacement options were discussed and offered but ultimately Gall didn’t end up with a new opponent following Condit’s exit.
The high-profile fight was another opportunity for Gall to step into the spotlight after he joined the UFC roster as the first opponent to challenge former WWE superstar CM Punk.
Thus far in his UFC career, Gall has gone 4-2 overall and he’s coming off a win over Salim Touahri in his last outing in August.
Gall has most recently been training in Ohio as he helped Matt Brown prepare for his upcoming fight against Ben Saunders at UFC 245 on Dec. 14 and he recently made a stop at Strong Style MMA, which is the home to UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic.
As of now there’s no word on when Gall will return to action but with the remaining cards in 2019 already filled, it’s likely he won’t be back until sometime in 2020.
