Greg Hardy set the record for the most fights in a year by UFC heavyweight, but it could be a while before he returns to action.
The former NFLer competed five times in 2019, including his short-notice appearance against Alexander Volkov at UFC Moscow on Nov. 9. Hardy lost a unanimous decision in that card’s co-main event and has been handed a potential 180-day medical suspension for an injury to his right hand, according to a list of suspensions acquired by MixedMartialArts.com.
Four other fighters are facing six-month medical suspensions: Dalcha Lungiambula (unspecified), Abubakar Nurmagomedov (left elbow), Jessica-Rose Clark (unspecified), and Grigorii Popov (nose).
All suspensions can be lifted early with clearance from a physician.
Featherweight headliners Zabit Magomedsharipov and Calvin Kattar escaped with minimal injury. Magomedsharipov was assigned seven days of mandatory rest, while Kattar was suspended for 30 days.
Medical suspension information comes directly from the UFC as there was no governing body on-site to sanction the event.
