Isabela de Padua has agreed to step in on hours’ notice and fight Ariane Lipski at UFC Sao Paulo, sources told MMA Fighting on Friday morning.
Lipski was scheduled to face Veronica Macedo at the Ibirapuera Gymnasium on Saturday, but withdrew from the card on Thursday night. According to French website La Sueur, Macedo was dealing with severe headaches. MMA Fighting confirmed the health issues with the Brazilian athletic commission (CABMMA).
“Belinha” de Padua (5-1) is on a five-fight winning streak that includes three stoppages.
Lipski (11-5), who went from facing Priscila Cachoeira to Macedo in Brazil, is looking to score her first UFC win after dropping decisions to Joanne Calderwood and Molly McCann earlier this year in the Octagon.
