Ashley Yoder didn’t have to wait long for a new opponent at UFC Singapore.
Officials announced Tuesday that Canadian strawweight vet Randa Markos is stepping into a spot left open by the injured Yan Xiaonan, whose withdrawal from the Oct. 26 card was confirmed by MMA Fighting. Markos’s selection as the replacement was initially reported by MMA Junkie.
UFC Singapore is headlined by Demian Maia vs. Ben Askren and takes place at Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Markos has had an up-and-down career since her turn on The Ultimate Fighter 20, bouncing between wins and losses over 12 appearances. Most recently, she suffered a decision loss to one-time title challenger Claudia Gadelha that left her overall Octagon record at 5-6-1.
Markos holds a win over inaugural strawweight champ Carla Esparza as well as former Invicta FC champ and current UFC standout Angela Hill.
Yoder, meanwhile, is trending up after a rough start to her UFC career. She’s picked up back-to-back wins in bouts against Syuri Kondo and Amanda Cooper after three straight losses in the octagon.
