Tito Ortiz’s Combate Americas debut is set.

As previously reported, the former UFC light heavyweight champion will face former WWE Superstar and current Combate Americas executive Alberto Rodriguez - better known by his pro-wrestling monikers “Alberto Del Rio,” or “Alberto El Patron,” as he is being billed for this bout - at a show at Payne Arena in Hidalgo, Texas, on Dec. 7.

The bout was officially announced on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show on Monday and confirmed by a Combate Americas official.

Ortiz, 44, signed with the promotion in April, and soon a matchup between the two was in the works. The fight is Ortiz’s first since this past November, when he picked up a first-round knockout of longtime rival Chuck Liddell at a Golden Boy promotions MMA show in Inglewood, Calif.

That bout followed a four-fight stint with Bellator, where Ortiz picked up wins over the likes of Chael Sonnen and Stephan Bonnar. His pro record currently stands at 20-12-1.

El Patron, the son of famed Mexican luchador Dos Caras and a multiple-time world champion for various pro-wrestling promotions including the WWE, CMLL, and Impact Wrestling, will compete in MMA for the first time since February 2010.

A former Olympic wrestling hopeful representing Mexico, the 42-year-old El Patron owns a 9-5 MMA record, with his first fights taking place in Japan where he once suffered a first-round knockout loss to Mirko Cro Cop.

Ortiz and El Patron will be in New York on Tuesday and Wednesday for media appearances. As of yet, no co-main event has been announced for the Dec. 7 show, which will take place on pay-per-view at an announced price of $39.99.
