Yorgan De Castro just joined the list of the greatest walk-off knockouts in UFC history with his performance at UFC 243.
The recent Dana White Contender Series veteran needed a single right hand to crash into Justin Tafa’s jaw, sending him motionless to the ground. The fight was over just 2:10 into the first round.
“This is my time,” De Castro said about the knockout win. “I’m born for this. Now I want my bonus, and I want to fight in December again.”

There was no feeling out period for the heavyweights, with De Castro and Tafa slinging heavy leather as soon as they were released from the corners. Both fighters landed stiff punches in the opening exchange, but Tafa opted to move to the clinch against the cage rather than stay at distance launching bombs.
The fighters eventually separated. But a moment later, Tafa charged forward, looking to overwhelm De Castro with a barrage of shots.
Instead of getting the desired result, De Castro countered with a devastating right hand that blasted Tafa flush in the jaw. De Castro knew the fight was done; he turned and walked away as the referee stopped the contest.
It was a huge win for De Castro, who was an underdog in his Contender Series fight as well as his UFC debut. Now, he’s gone 2-0 with hopes of picking up one more victory before the year is over.
