Marina Rodriguez replaces injured Claudia Gadelha vs. Cynthia Calvillo at UFC on ESPN 7

Cynthia Calvillo will face another Brazilian foe at UFC on ESPN 7.

With Claudia Gadelha out due to an ankle injury, Calvillo now meets fellow strawweight prospect Marina Rodriguez at the Dec. 7 card in Washington, multiple sources confirmed to MMA Fighting following a report by ESPN.

Rodriguez (12-0-1) is coming off an unanimous decision win over Tecia Torres in August, boosting her UFC record to 2-0-1 after a victory against Jessica Aguilar and a majority draw versus Randa Markos.

Calvillo (8-1) has bounced back from the only loss of her career — a decision to Carla Esparza in Dec. 2017 — with wins over Poliana Botelho and Cortney Casey. She was expected to face Livinha Souza in July, but withdrew from the bout with an injury.

UFC on ESPN 7 will take place at the Capital One Arena in Washington, DC, and feature heavyweights Alistair Overeem and Walt Harris in a five-round main event.
