Gabriel Gonzaga needed less than four minutes to hand fellow UFC veteran Antonio Silva another knockout loss in the main event of Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship 8 in Tampa, Florida.
The two 40-year-old heavyweights, who accumulated knockout defeats over the last few years in mixed martial arts, made their debuts in bare knuckle boxing on Saturday night, and “Napao” landed a good combination with a few seconds left in the clock in the second round, finally dropping “Bigfoot” with a brutal uppercut followed by a left hand.

Silva, 19-12 in MMA, has now been knocked out in nine of his last 12 bouts, including MMA, kickboxing and bare knuckle boxing fights. He’s scheduled to return on Nov. 28, taking on Gregory Tony in a kickboxing bout in Auckland, NZ. Tony is the current WKN super heavyweight champion with a record of 83-16-1 in kickboxing with 58 knockouts.
Gonzaga (17-12) doesn’t rule out returning to MMA if the price is right. “Napao” competed for the last time in the sport in May 2018, losing by knockout to Aleksander Emelianenko. The Brazilian has been active in jiu-jitsu tournaments in 2019.
