An injury has forced Karol Rosa to withdraw from UFC Singapore.
The bantamweight on Tuesday announced a knee injury that will take her out of a scheduled fight against Julia Avila at the Oct. 26 event, which takes place at Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore.
”I have a ligament inflammation, feeling a lot of pain during training, (and) ended up causing a cyst and besides and I can’t make some movements,” she wrote on her official Instagram page. “I will need to stay still for (one) month without training and some physical therapy sessions.
”I apologize to all the people who were cheering and waiting for my second fight at UFC.”
With a little less than two weeks until the event, it’s unknown whether the promotion will be able to secure a replacement opponent. Avila wasn’t immediately reachable for comment.
Rosa hoped to pick up her second octagon win after a split-call over Lara Fritzen Procopio in her August debut. She’s currently riding a three-fight winning streak, while Avila is three months removed from a decision over Pannie Kianzad in her first UFC outing.
