Aung La Nsang successfully defended his light-heavyweight crown with a second round finish of heavyweight champion Brandon Vera in the main event of One Championship Century: Part 2 on Sunday in Tokyo, Japan.
Both fighters threw caution to the wind throughout the contest. Vera’s demise began when the double champion connected with a spinning back elbow at the midway point of the second round. After Vera tried to return the favor with a spinning elbow of his own, Nsang landed several clean punches that forced Vera to the canvas. After seeing Vera eating several unanswered shots, the referee stepped in to stop the action.
WHAT. A. BATTLE!

Shinya Aoki put another impeccable submission showing with his 54-second finish of Honorio Banario in the co-main event. The Japanese grappling ace wasted not time forcing the grappling exchanges and the stoppage seemed all but a formality once he latched onto Bonorio’s neck. After establishing the D’arce choke, he flipped Banario over to tighten his grip before Filipino signalled the end of the contest.

Bibiano Fernandes took his third win over Kevin Bellingon in their fourth meeting to end their rivalry, which led the Brazilian to another successful title defense of his bantamweight title. The champion controlled the fight from the first bell and forced a tap from Bellingnon when he took his back and secured a rear-naked choke in the second round.

Arjan Bhullar banked a successful ONE debut when he met former Cage Warriors heavyweight champion Mauro Cerilli. After a solid first round from the Italian, Bhullar rallied and burst Cerilli’s face open with a series of uppercuts from the clinch, which likely put him on course to earn the nod from the judges.
Jenny Huang’s evident striking improvements were not enough to earn her a win over Japanese legend Mei Yamaguchi in their rematch. Huang piled on the pressure late and gave the decorated veteran plenty to think about over the 15 minutes. However, when all was said and done, all three judges scored the fight in favor of hometown hero, Yamaguchi.
The mini tournament that kicked off the second part of the Century event saw Shooto and Pancrase share honors with two victories each over four contests.
Pancrase lightweight champion Takasuke Kume bested Shooto champion Koshi Matsumoto over three rounds in their welterweight bout before interim welterweight champion Hiroyuki Tetsuka doubled Pancrase’s advantage with another decision nod over Shooto welterweight champion Hernani Perpetuo in their middleweight meeting. Shoko Sato fought back with a brutal finish of Rafael Silva to get the first point on the board for Shooto before Yosuke Saruta blasted out Daichi Kitakata with a grounded punch to regain parity.
