Kron Gracie won’t be the only member of the traditional jiu-jitsu clan inside the Amalie Arena in Tampa on Saturday night.

Father of the undefeated featherweight, legendary Rickson Gracie confirmed to MMA Fighting he will be in Kron’s corner for his fight with Cub Swanson, which co-headlines the UFC Fight Night show in Florida.

A man of few words, Gracie told MMA Fighting in a text message he expects “one more victory” from his son against Swanson.

After cornering Kron in most of his MMA bouts in Japan, Rickson was not present in the corner when the jiu-jitsu specialist submitted Alex Caceres in just two minutes in his Octagon debut at UFC on ESPN 1 in Brooklyn in February.

Gracie (5-0), an ADCC gold medalist and multiple time Brazilian jiu-jitsu champion, scored wins over the likes of Leandro Lo, Michael Langhi, Claudio Calasans, Shinya Aoki, Beneil Dariush and Garry Tonon in grappling competition before making the jump to MMA in 2014.

A training partner of Nick and Nate Diaz in California, Gracie submitted all five opponents he’s faced so far under MMA rules, including Japanese veterans Hideo Tokoro and Tatsuya Kawajiri under the Rizin banner.

At the UFC Tampa open workouts on Wednesday, Kron Gracie did the famous breathing exercise he learned from his father.
