On Tuesday in Las Vegas, the Nevada Athletic Commission handed out fines and suspensions to Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor for their roles in the UFC 229 postfight brawl, as well as approving Jon Jones for a one-fight license for his UFC 235 matchup with Anthony Smith. Here’s what the pros had to say about Tuesday’s happenings:
Разбудите меня, когда все это закончится.

I am thankful for the Nevada athletic commissions fair assessment and handling of the brawl incident.

It was not my intention to land the final blow of the night on my opponent’s blood relative. It’s just how it played out.
I look forward to competing again soon.
Thank you all.

He attempted to use the big security guard that’s in all the movies as cover, but I could smell him a mile away and landed flush down the pipe.

I’m not one to defend Conor.... but what exactly did he do beside make more money than Khabib, that would warrant a larger or similar fine!? #UFC

Doesn’t matter where you’re from, what’s your color, race or religion we respect each other and if you don’t you will get humbled. We all stand together and have each other’s back every day for life. The first chapter is over but is just the beginning. Stay alert pic.twitter.com/LOkDiqUjg8

You should tell him to write a list of banned words and phrases that may or may not get us suspended....depending on who you are!
— Chas Skelly (@ChasSkelly) January 29, 2019
Also, they should let everyone know that you may still be suspended for using words not on the “banned words list”! https://t.co/73B4UXL6rn
