Round 1: Interesting battle here flyweight; Ostovich with one of the most tumultuous camps on record, and PVZ fighting to prove that she belongs in the UFC. The referee for this one is Kevin MacDonald. Friendly tap of gloves. They trade kicks simultaneously, and now Ostovich wraps up PVZ and goes to the fence. VanXAnt with a quick trip takedown, and back up they pop. Now Ostovich with a take down in the middle of the cage, and she is trying to advance her position. VanZant is clinging, as Ostovich tries posture. Now the referee stands them up, and right away Ostovich takes PVZ down again — this time after a right hand slug to the face. Again we are pulling towards a stalemate; Ostovich has her arm trapped under PVZ’s neck, as the crowd rains down a chorus of boos. MacDonald circles around to gt a better look, and now Ostovich is cranking the neck a little bit, without the greatest purchase. VanZant doesn’t seem like she’s in trouble, but nor is she in a position to do anything. Now she temporarily grabs an ankle, which gets an awe from the crowd. Thy are locked in a limbs-torqueing rollabout. PVZ stands, and Ostovich makes them tumble down again. The scrambles are getting frenetic here, as now PVZ ends up on top as the round ends. MMA Fighting scores R1 for Ostovich, 10-9.
Round 2: Leg kick from VanAZnt, and now she surges ahead winging punches — mostly errant. Ostovich looks pretty comfortable in there. She is keeping her movement with the feet, and at the earliest convenience she takes PVZ down again. Now she snatches her back, and they stand up, with Ostovich riding piggy-back — now VanZant reverses, and she’s got her back, and trying for a submission. She can’t get it, but she’s raining down punches. Whoa. She flattens out Ostovich for a moment, now Ostovich on her knees, and she’s taking punishment. And somebody is hurt...the fight is stopped. Ostovich might have broken her arm, or had it dislocated. Either that or it was a very quiet tap. PVZ had the arm and was torquing and must have heard a pop, because she concerned right after. Crazy fight, and a strange end.
